nutella krispies w/ vanilla pb frosting

february 5th is world nutella day! while nutella is still trying to gain popularity in the united states, it's been huge worldwide for quite some time. in fact, in europe nutella is probably more popular than peanut butter (which is crazy for americans since we love peanut butter!) i have been big on nutella for years, even though peanut butter is better for you. nutella is great on toast, pancakes, waffles, crepes, on a banana sandwich, by the spoonful and now in rice krispies! for those who don't know, nutella is a hazelnut-chocolate spread, with similar consistency and uses as peanut butter. i was trying to think of a good recipe for nutella and we had some rice krispies that needed to be used up before they went stale, and instant success (well technically there was a trial run that was just ok, but we'll just forget about that..) and since peanut butter makes most things better, i decided to add a little peanut butter frosting on top.

recipe:
4T butter
2 1/3c marshmallows
1c nutella
3T honey
3c rice krispies

just like making regular rice krispies, melt everything together in a pan and while it's still hot, stir in (and stir and stir and stir..) the cereal in until it's all mixed and pour into a 9x9 pan to set.

pb frosting:
1/2c honey nut roasted pb (it's sweeter, but really any smooth pb will work)
1T melted butter
4T powdered sugar
1/2t vanilla
